KEEPING HIS LEGENDS #59 IN 2019 AND THE #16 IN 2020 RACE READY
2019 SEASON
Blake heads to Charlotte in June to take part in the NASCAR Rev Racing Drive for Diversity program. In the meantime he is doing all he can here in Massachusetts to prepare for the Bojangles Summer Shootout INEX Legends series. That includes getting to know the Charlotte Motor Speedway course by practicing on the course on a racing simulator, as well as getting some time behind the wheel of a Legends car at Granite State Legends at NHMS. Blake also continues kart racing to keep his racing skills up. Along with racing practice, Blake paid a visit to HMS Motorsports to get fitted for safety equipment including a new helmet and HANS device.
2018 SEASON
It's a new season and it comes with a new kart for Blake. He is looking forward to getting behind the wheel of his new Briggs and Stratton World Formula kart with the Margay chassis. He has been spending time at the CF Motorsports shop working with race director Mike Camarra on the new kart.
2017 SEASON
It takes a lot of work to build and maintain a high-performance go-kart. Blake has put in many hours at the CF Motorsports Shop working on his kart to get it ready for the summer racing season in New Hampshire. Over the past few weeks Blake has worked with the CF crew to check and bleed the brakes, readjust the car's tire alignment and adjust the carburetor. Blake's kart will also have a new number in New Hampshire, #95. This season Blake is moving up from the junior league to the senior league. Because of that move, Blake's LO 206 Briggs-Stratton kart will be getting some upgrades that will allow the kart to go faster. Blake's kart will also be fitted with a MYCHRON 5 chronograph on the steering wheel. The MYCRON will allow him to map all the tracks he races on and record GPS data from each race. Blake can analyze that data and see exactly where he needs to make adjustments in his racing style for better performance.
To keep costs down Blake also built his own kart stand in wood shop at Middle School. Check it out in the gallery below.
